Lake is great! Observatory a bit boring for the average person.
Fascinating Place! Our daughter took us there for and evening with a ton of astronomers and telescopes available to gaze through. Questions are answered and we were really impressed with how friendly and willing to answer questions everyone was. The opportunity to look through larger telescopes was what made the night.
World's largest amateur telescope
Been to their star parties twice. Once last month prior to the eclipse and once thrust recently. This last trip was not that great. The "hosts" consisted of an old gentleman and a woman yelled at people who was were usbig flash photography and their phones to see. The kid, who didn't speak English, was a foreign exchange student and just wanted to take pictures. He didn't know his flash was "blinding" everyone. Was really interested in joining because I thought it would be fun (which it was the first time) but don't need to be around mean people. I just want to look at stars and enjoy and have fun.
